The Friends of the Bala Cynwyd Farmers Market and Farm to City have put together a Harvest Festival. The goal of our farmers market is to bring fresh, local, seasonal food to our area and help reduce our communal carbon footprint through support of regional agriculture. The Friends of the Bala Cynwyd Farmers Market feel strongly about the connection between the food and energy economies and see the farmers market as a small but important step in promoting a green lifestyle. We are hoping to bring this market to this site next summer from May to November.
Details about our Harvest Festival: Thursday 24 September from 3-7pm Parking Lot of St. Matthias Church 128 Bryn Mawr Avenue in Bala Cynwyd Featuring fruits and vegetables from Wimer's Organics, Fruitwood Farms, Frecon Farms, cheeses from Shellbark Hollow Farm, baked goods from Wild Flour Bakery and Bala Avenue's own Cafe Avril. Come meet neigbors and farmers, buy cornstalks, honey and pumpkins, make a culinary craft with folks from Sweet Mabel, watch a Cafe Avril cooking demo and more! Walk, bike or drive - plenty of on-site parking available. Questions? Comments? Want to Volunteer? visit us at www.balacynwydfarme rsmarket.
