On Monday, February 11, 2008, Narberth Borough Council unanimously passed a resolution to pursue the Cool Cities Campaign!

While we have already completed the first step of signing the
Mayors' Climate Protection Agreement, we are working towards the second step which is to purchase ICLEI software and measure Narberth's greenhouse gas emmissions. After we complete this, we will be able to devise a plan in order to reach the goal of reducing emmissions 7% below 1990 levels by 2012.

To complete step two, we will need to gather volunteers to work with the Borough and calculate Narberth's carbon footprint this spring/summer. If you would like to get involved, please email Avi at NarberthGreens@gmail.com. All types of time commitments are needed, so we should be able to work with your schedule.

History of Campaign

This all started at the September 24, 2007 NG meeting, when Stephanie Odell gave a presentation about the Cool Cities Campaign. Since then, through conducting research, creating proposals, and attending meetings, active members or Narberth Greens have urged the Narberth Borough Council to officially join the Cool Cities Campaign. On January 14, 2008 Mayor Grady signed the Mayors' Climate Protection Agreement (the first step of Cool Cities) and on February 11, 2008, Borough Council passed a resolution to pursue the Cool Cities Campaign.
