Plants

Why this is important:

"Narberth’s trees act as an urban canopy and help moderate our temperatures and slow storm water runoff. During heavy rainstorms our trees and bushes catch the rain before it hits the ground. This gives the rainwater a better chance to go into the soil instead of running off and possibly overwhelming the drains in the streets, reducing the possibility of flooding. But, many of Narberth’s trees, particularly its tall shade trees, are aging. As they fall or are taken down, it is important that new trees (including tall trees, not just smaller trees) be planted to take their places." Nancy Grundahl, Narberth's Environment Report

What you can do:

Help maintain our communities canopy of tall trees by planting a shade tree through Narberth's Tree-Vitalize program. Planting included. Pick up a form at Borough Hall, or calling Fred Hansell at (610) 664 2840
